Hi, we are CHRIS + JOHN
We embarked on a joint venture 2 decades ago, blending our individual talents to form Kohalafoto Films.
What started as a humble endeavor in Hawaii has grown into a thriving business globally, where each project becomes a canvas for our shared vision.
Our goal is simple: to capture the true essence of each of our couples - their love, laughter, joy, and uniqueness.
Chris's style and signature aesthetic can be described as timeless and natural with a playful, understated elegance.
John spent a number of years behind the camera in Hollywood's movie business and together they have shot hundreds of beautiful weddings.
We specialize in genuine emotions and joyful moments - the photos that clients don't know to request and the ones that other photographers may overlook.
On your wedding day, we prefer to be fully immersed rather than being a detached observer, and we are always ready to style and pose as needed. Our calm, easy going and fun demeanor distinguishes us, and our ability to connect with couples allows us to capture genuine moments that truly reflect their personalities.
When we are not behind the camera, you'll find us 'playing" at the beach, exploring a new nature trail, challenging ourselves with an extreme outdoor adventure, or simply enjoying quality time at home with our little family (dog Luke, Mila and kitty Tahu).

KOHALAFOTO Photography is a professional photography company with 15 + years experience in wedding, editorial, portrait, and commercial work. Over 2000 photo assignments and over hundreds of weddings . . . we stopped counting :)
