About The Artist:
Kaya Lonie, Hawaii born Independent Artist began exploring art at age 8. She attended and graduated University of Hawaii at Manoa , where she trained in traditional academic drawing/painting and animation. Kaya interned at George Lucas’ Industrial Light and Magic and later founded an art and design company based in Florida.
Best described as a “digital painter,” Kaya has created an immense body of work. She has become well known for her many layered, colorful works using a custom built digital set up and has traveled the world exhibiting her work and has contributed to events on several continents, mostly in Hawaii and Europe.
At the center of Kaya’s work is spirituality and Beauty. Describing her work as minimalistic - journalistic, Kaya attributes her ability to create to the wonders of technology, crediting the planet’s resources for advancements in art production. Manipulating light and energy, capturing the beauty of nature and diverse personalities, Kaya captures complex concepts while utilizing her formal background in the arts.
